Superstar rock band Intelligent Music Project released their album

July 27, 2022 by imusic
News

Starring Simon Phillips (TOTO), Ronnie Romero (Rainbow, MSG) and Carl Sentence (Nazareth)

The Bulgarian rock band Intelligent Music Project just released its seventh studio album entitled “Unconditioned” – just two months after their biggest adventure, called Eurovision Song Contest.

The legendary Simon Phillips (TOTO, Protocol) returns as percussionist and musical co-producer of the new album, while the lead vocalist on this release will again be one of the most popular names in rock music today: Ronnie Romero (Rainbow, MSG). This will be Romero’s third album with Intelligent Music Project, and for the first time the group has expanded its compositional approach: two of the songs are entirely the work of Ronnie, Biser Ivanov and Ivo Stefanov. For the first time on “Unconditioned,” the band’s lead singer shows off his skills as a lyricist, having penned the words to those two songs. All the other songs and lyrics are once again the creation of Intelligent Music Project’s founder and producer, Dr. Milen Vrabevski.

“Unconditioned” is an album dedicated to unconditional love as a deciding factor in normalizing our modern life. This love has to be focused above all on our children, because they are the future, while we are the ones who need to show them the way and teach them to make bold decisions and to live for the people around them. Only with more such people will the world become a better place” – Dr. Vrabevski about the new album.

One hit track from “Unconditioned” is “Intention” – the song the band played as Bulgaria’s representative to Eurovision 2022 in Torino. Besides the Eurovision version, the album will also include the original, longer take, which sticks to Intelligent Music Project’s signature melodic progressive style, as well as a singback version.

The album’s second single, “New Hero,” came out in early May. The song was accompanied by a striking video that recreated a military atmosphere, where, in synch with the idea behind the album, the main characters were children. In the video’s narrative, it is precisely the children who turn out to be the brave heroes who bring about change.

“Effective action in the present, despite difficulties, is the key to progress. It is crucial for us to know that pretty words get us nowhere. It is easy to stand silently and do what you’re told. The harder but only effective thing is for a person to have their own opinion, their own method of resisting injustice, even if this means they often finds themselves alone and misunderstood,” Dr. Vrabevski explains.

In addition to Simon Phillips and Ronnie Romero, the album also includes also Carl Sentance (Nazareth), Slavin Slavchev, Lina Nicole, and Borislav Mudolov-Kosatkata on backing vocals; Ivo Stefanov on keyboards; Biser Ivanov on guitar, Dimitar Sirakov on bass and Samuel Eftimov on piano;

The Bulgarian Eurovision 2022 representative Intelligent Music Project is going on a tour

The Bulgarian rock band Intelligent Music Project, together with their main vocalist Ronnie Romero (Rainbow) will return live on stage in August and September as part of their  “The Unconditioned Tour”. The concerts will be in support of the seventh consecutive album of the Intelligent Music Project “Unconditioned”.

Besides the Eurovision version, the album will also include the original, longer take, which sticks to Intelligent Music Project’s signature melodic progressive style, as well as a karaoke version.

“Intention” was the first single from Intelligent Music Project’s seventh album. At the moment, the song has more than one million views/listens on YouTube and Spotify. The song raises the question of every individual’s personal, internal battle with outdated models of belief and behavior that hold them back. Starting from the title itself, the author underscores the simple fact that it is never too late to start down the right path – the path of your own personal growth, of dignified existence and of life with a mission. The song calls us to turn away from our ego, selfishness and a consumerist attitude on life and instead to live for the people around us.

“Finding the right path, however, often turns into a battle with one’s self, so you need a serious intention to truly make a change!” Dr. Milen Vrabevski, the author of the music and lyrics of “Intention” notes.

The album’s second single, “New Hero,” came out in early May. The song was accompanied by a striking video that recreated a military atmosphere, where, in synch with the idea behind the album, the main characters were children. In the video’s narrative, it is precisely the children who turn out to be the brave heroes who bring about change.

The album will be released on July 27, the day of Ronnie Romero’s wedding to Romanian model Corina Minda, where Drs. Milen and Rossitsa Vrabevski will serve as best man and maid of honor.

The first footage from the rehearsal of the Bulgarian Eurovision representative Intelligent Music Project appears on the official YouTube channel of Eurovision. The impressive lights and the fire show during the 30-second part from the song “Intention” defined the stage concept of the Bulgarian representatives as one of the most attractive in the competition this year.

“The published footage from the rehearsal is a very small part of what the audience will enjoy on May 10, when the semifinals in which we participate. We work with an extremely talented, responsible and very experienced creative director who does not impress with his perseverance every day “, say from the team of the Bulgarian delegation about Andrea Celi whose idea was to create more than 3-meters huge “Core of Sound” that will be on the stage during Bulgaria’s performance.

Link to the video from the rehearsal:

Bulgaria and Intelligent Music Project will appear on stage on May 10 at number 7, and two semifinals and finals of the competition – on May 10, 12 and 14 will be broadcast live on BNT1 from 22:00.

New song from Intelligent Music Project just a week before their Eurovision semi-final

May 2, 2022 by imusic
News

The Bulgarian representative to Eurovision Song Contest Intelligent Music Project released a new single from the band’s upcoming album “Unconditioned” (in July). The song is named “New Hero” and is accompanied by a emotional video, recreating a military situation.

The song comes out just a week before the band’s first semi-final of one of the biggest music events in the world – Eurovision Song Contest, where the guys will represent their country with the song “Intention” – part of the same upcoming album.

“We have a lot to say through our music and we think that in the difficult times we’re living, the message of this song is very important. We thought that this is the right moment to share it with our fans”, said the musicians from Intelligent Music Project.

And the message of the song is very clear and strong one – let us forget our ego, anger and fear, and let us start living for those around us.

“Effective action in the moment, irrespective of difficulties, is the key to progress. It’s important to know that nothing is achieved simply with words. It’s easy to stand mute in the crowd and listen to instructions. What’s more difficult and efficient is for a person to have their own opinion and own method of opposing injustice, though often alone and without others understanding”, explained Dr. Milen Vrabevski, who is author of the music and lyrics and also founder and producer of Intelligent Music Project.

All these thoughts are expressed through the kids, that are taking part in the video.

“We want to show how important children really are, how important it is to love them and to bring them up with these values – to make brave decisions and live for those around them, because they are the new heroes”, added from the team of the band.

A three-meter tall “Core of Sound ” on stage during Intelligent Music Project’s performance on Eurovision

April 30, 2022 by imusic
News

The Bulgarian representative to the Eurovision Song Contest Intelligent Music Project is already in Turin, and the preparations for the first semifinal, where the group will come out under number 7 on May 10th, are already in progress.

During the today’s first rehearsal for Bulgaria, for the first time the band lifted the curtain on their stage performance and showed off part of their impressive décor with which the boys will present their song “Intention” at Eurovision. A three-meter spherical structure, wrapped in speakers, lasers and lights, will stand on the stage during the performance of the Intelligent Music Project. What is the symbol behind this – the creative director of the band’s performance Andrea Celli told us something more about it:

“It all started with the way I imagined the meaning of the song “Intention”. For me, the song is like an inner adventure. And like any adventure, there is a need for fighters, for characters. For me, the musicians who will take the stage are the fighters, but every fighter needs some kind of center of gravity, if I may say so, and I needed such a center. This is how the idea of this “Core of Sound” came to me. It is a huge speaker, full of light effects that will spread the energy from the stage to everyone in the hall and in front of the TV. ”

The “Core of Sound” pays tribute to the legendary band Grateful Dead, whose trademark is the so-called “wall of sound”, says also Andrea.

The unexpected bet (reader’s opinion)

The reader of Topnovini.bg Stefan Stefanov sent to the editorial office a comment on the song “Intention” of “Intelligent Music Project”, which will represent Bulgaria to “Eurovision”

“I’m never in the safety zone I took the fight, but was I right?”

As usual there is a lot of discussion about the Bulgarian representative to the Eurovision 2022 contest, but it is really too early for the Intelligent Music Project to be written off, because the group has strong arguments on its side. The band has maintained a constant direction and built its own universe around itself since 2010 – all things that are missing as an approach in our poor musical reality. Intelligent Music Project has already been proven in its genre and this has been stamped in time with collaborations with musicians from legendary rock bands such as Toto, Styx and Rainbow, as well as with 6 studio albums recorded in their own studio. The fact is that the band is one of the few that makes a big tour every year and manages to fill the halls and summer theaters in Bulgaria and abroad. In this sense, the cycle is closed in the universe of “Intelligent Music Project” and the machine is underway even before the participation of “Eurovision”.

The Creation Tour 2021 has ended

December 18, 2021 by imusic
News

Intelligent Music Project’s “The Creation Tour 2021” ended yesterday in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. The concerts were in support of the last sixth album of Dr. Milen Vrabevski and the band “The Creation”, which was released in March.

During the year, Intelligent Music Project, together with its star vocalist Ronnie Romero visited Varna, Burgas, Thessaloniki, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Stara Zagora, as well as Plovdiv and Sofia twice. At the first concerts in May, special guest musicians were two of the participants in the recordings of “The Creation” – the legendary drummer of Rainbow and Black Sabbath Bobby Rondinelli and the Nazareth vocalist Carl Sentance.

Along with them, Ronnie Romero and the main musicians of the Intelligent Music Project – Bisser Ivanov, Slavin Slavchev, Bobby Kosatkata, Stoyan Yankoulov-Stundzhi, Lina Nicole, Dimiter Sirakov, Ivo Stefanov and Samuel Eftimov – were always on the stage.

“We are really happy that in these difficult times we’re living all the halls and theaters we played in were full – this respect for us and our music is invaluable,” said the creator, producer and author of the music and lyrics of all albums of the group so far Dr. Milen Vrabevski.

And 2022 will be no less interesting for the Intelligent Music Project. The band will begin the year with a concert at the Sofia Live Club on February 5th, followed by a European tour in March. A little later in the summer, the band’s seventh album featuring Ronnie Romero and Simon Phillips will be released, followed by a big concert tour in it’s support.

Before that, however, Intelligent Music Project will take on the biggest challenge in the history of the band so far – the participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin with the song “Intention”.

The Bulgarian Eurovision 2022 representative Intelligent Music Project released their song “Intention”

December 5, 2021 by imusic
News

The Bulgarian representative to Eurovision, Intelligent Music Project, has just released its song for the contest next year. The title of the song is “Intention”, and it is supported by a stunning music video. “Intention” was presented live on the Bulgarian National Television by the producer and author of the song, Dr. Milen Vrabevski.

“Intention” speaks of the personal struggle in our thoughts and minds to break free from old patterns of belief and behavior that hold us back. As of the very title we want to emphasize a very simple fact – It’s never too late to set foot on the right path – the path of growth, dignified existence, and life with a mission. The shadow you are chased by is actually your former you. Turn your back on the ego and selfishness and start living for the people around you… But change often means a strong internal battle, within your soul… Even a war with yourself. If the better part of you wins, you feel free & happy! And the freer you feel, the farther you walk away from real life. A paradox at first glance, but the environment you’re in is not meant to make you happy by default. The sense of freedom and happiness is a state of mind that you teach yourself to prevail in your thoughts. It is the result of a meaningful everyday usefulness. So, find deep within yourself the inner signals of the incomparable feeling of happiness, the sense of freedom, and spiritual satisfaction with existence. For all this to happen you need a strong intention”, said Milen Vrabevski.

‘Intention’ meets all criteria for top quality dynamic festival rock. And get the best of it with the great Ronnie Romero, the catchy guitar riffs of Bisser Ivanov and… wait for it – the amazing Simon Phillips on drums! He is also the music co-producer of the song. What a team!

Unfortunately, Mr. Phillips will not be able to hit the Eurovision. As in the video of the song, on stage in Turin, behind the drums will be the amazing two-time contestant in Eurovision Stoyan Yankoulov, who is actually the drummer of the band.

And what can say we about the video? Fully corresponding to the message of the song, the two storylines in it focus on a person’s inner struggle with himself. The clashes of life in the video are presented like a game – as a message not only to young people to think outside of the box, but also to their parents – give your children the chance to follow their instincts and make bold decisions! On the attractive mirrors set and with the help of the beautiful girl travelling in time in the video, it’s shown that wherever we’re trying to “disappear” or get out, we cannot run away from ourselves. The only way to live with dignity is to come face to face with the enemy, who is always the same – your own self.

Take a look for yourselves:
